I don't have a fish. But if you look closely, I stuck a cat-snow globe in there.

My cat named Weasel

Old Photography

I never knew there were so many different techniques that were used 'back in the day' for photography. I knew that the processes took a substantial amount of time, including taking the actual photograph. It could take over 15 minutes to take a photograph- of course people didn't smile!

Recently in my digital media class I attended a lecture about older photography. One of the first few interesting things that was shown was a Stereopticum, which is basically like the first generation of a viewfinder.

Tin types were often made because they were much more affordable. Victorians also kept photo albums.

Photo conservation was and still is very important, older photographs were easily damaged because of chemicals or a change in the dye.

I did not know that photo manipulation was possible During the early 20th century! It was very interesting to see examples of this.

Too bad I look so angry!

Self Portrait Two
This image kind of confuses me when I look at it because this is not the street I live on, its actually the street a block over, well, not really, it more like, around the corner.

My Number One choice

Self Portrait Number One
Maybe I should come up with a better title? This is my favorite image from the self portrait shoot. My idea for the original roof picture was very different; I wanted to sit on the highest part of the roof. I decided that was probably too dangerous. I think this one turned out okay, though.

For Class

This blog is solely dedicated to posting photography; specifically for my Digital Media class.

I also have a Deviantart account, should you should check that out too. It has different types of art I have done over the last few years- mostly digital. I thought it might be a good idea to separate this blog with the Deviantart blog, maybe it will make things easier.
